Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was given a tour of Ben-Gurion, Israel’s only international airport today. She rejected the possibility of similar security measures here in the United States saying "We share a common goal, which is to protect the people of our countries from terror or other attacks, but there are many differences in the United States system versus Israel. Part of that is driven by sheer size." In the Fox News interview Napolitano continues to site the differing statistics to back up her claim that a similar security system would not work in the United States. Ben-Gurion only sees 11 million travelers annually while the United States has 450 international airports with a combined annual traveler total of 77 million. She also states that Israel only has a population of 7.3 million and spends $57 per traveler while the United States has over 310 million people and spends only $7 per traveler.

Proponents of integrating a system similar to Israel’s say it would eliminate the need for the new controversial security measures which travelers believe invade their privacy and civil liberties. Israel’s security measures involve an interrogation-like interview of each passenger, snipers placed at the entrance to the airport, and measures to find and stop explosives on cargo planes. The Fox News article also stated a frequent traveler to the Ben-Gurion airport he said of his experience with Israeli security, “I'd love to see American security like this.”

I would love the opportunity to ask the Obama Administration, and democrats in congress, how the security of Americans is somehow forgotten on the backburner of their agenda compared to their precious 400,000 word bill that no one read, including the Speaker of the House. How do they debate the following question? The United States population is over 310 million people based on the 2010 census. The following countries that have socialized medicine combined population is somewhere around 354 million: United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, and Denmark. So based on size and cost I would say if we cannot accomplish the same high standards of security for Americans, how does the government expect to accomplish high standards of health care for Americans?

As always there is a double standard. As always there is a backroom secret deal that you hope we do not see or hear. There is a remnant of patriots who see through the tinted glass, and we are not going to take it anymore.

A Retiring Proposal

Because of the economic recession we have endured, our national debt has soared. No American has been left unscathed by this tragedy of which the W is single-handedly responsible. Millions of Americans are out of work, home foreclosures are at an all-time high, and poverty is at the highest level in almost sixty years. Our economy is beginning to show signs of recovery because of government bailouts and spending trillions of dollars, but now we need a solution to pay off the skyrocketing debt.

With healthcare being a prime debate every American has a stake in, there is an imperative step we must take now to insure the future of our healthcare and the well-being of each citizen. I propose that at retirement age we provide a sleeping pill to those citizens who choose to end their lives instead of living on when they know that inevitably death will become them. The pill will be administered in a controlled environment such as in a hospital or hospice care center with loved ones gathered around. What a wonderful way to exit life knowing you have personally decreased the national debt, leaving a lasting legacy for your children and grandchildren. This would be the best kind of inheritance; your children and grandchildren would not have the indefinite burden of higher taxation placed on them. The gift of knowing you personally helped decrease the national debt is priceless.

Ending life early would provide the security of knowing you would not endure the health-ills that often pervade the sunset of one’s life. You would avoid the horrendous, excruciating death of cancer. Elderly citizens often suffer through unbearable pain of arthritis, and the heartbreaking and long-lasting deterioration Alzheimer’s or dementia cause. You will escape the evils of diabetes such as finger-pricking and amputations, and the sadness surrounding costly hospitalization or untimely death from a broken hip. How about the assurance that you will never be left in a nursing home or care facility without a visitor or loving care from someone you know? To make it easy on your spouse or partner you can choose to go together, so there will be no grieving widow or widower. Would you rather spend twenty, thirty, or possibly even forty years decaying, waiting to meet your maker, or would you prefer to die in peace and comfort while you remember your family and are in charge of your health?

The government will provide excellent benefits for those who enter in an End of Life Contract. A person who chooses end of life earlier in life will be given tax benefits depending on the age they choose in their End of Life Contract. The person may choose to leave those tax benefits as an inheritance to their children or other beneficiary such as a cat, dog, or other important family member. The percentage of your social security benefits that would have normally been automatically extracted from your loved one’s paycheck would be credited to them as a generous gift from the United States. No worries about funeral and burial arrangements because the government will pick up the tab for that as well. What is $4,000-$10,000 in a one-time payout compared to at least $25,000 per year, administrative costs, and wasteful spending? This will save you the cost of purchasing life insurance, or worrying about saving for retirement in a 401k plan. You will not have to worry about your property value when you retire, or being able to afford housing or the daily costs of living on the meager social security salary. A further benefit given will be for those who have not planned ahead for retirement, as over 60% of Americans have not. If social security will be your main income in retirement and you choose the End of Life Contract early on, you will not have to pay in to the social security pool.

Furthermore why not choose the End of Life Contract for your child when he or she is born? As a parent you will reap the greatest benefits from this government program. If you choose the End of Life Contract for your children you will not pay federal income tax. Yes, that is right you will have a zero tax burden to the federal government! Those who are at the highest income brackets will certainly benefit the most from this program. The federal government will also prompt the state governments to provide the same incentives to parents who choose to take part in the program. Your children will thank you for providing them with a home that is free to spend all of the income earned. There will certainly be trips to Disney World and Toys R Us with all the additional money brought in. The childhood memories will be invaluable, and otherwise unattainable by many hardworking Americans.

Corporations will prosper under this plan as well, and will be required to offer those in End of Life Contracts preferred benefits such as extra paid time off, better health insurance, and free onsite childcare. Corporations will no longer have to worry about paying in to pension plans or 401k plans, and will reward employees who choose the End of Life plan with increased wages and higher raises. Those with proof of an End of Life Contract will be given preferential hiring status by the finest employers. Imagine the possibilities if you are the owner of an S-Corporation, and choose the End of Life Contract for your children. You will no longer be the unwilling donor of the greatest tax burden. You will never have the IRS after you for tax evasion. There will never be an audit on your business, because your federal tax burden will be zero.

So every American must now ask ourselves do we want to continue with the spiral of debt, or do we want to do something great for our country and take personal responsibility to the next level? If you love your country and want to see America grow and prosper in the future, the End of Life Contract is an important choice for you and hope for generations to come.

To Work or Not to Work

I would say there are two main thoughts a person may have of a SAHM. Either they think that's great, or they think we'll she's just wasting her life away. Well I have to admit I do sometimes feel like I'm wasting my life away, my brain is turning to mush, yada yada all that stereotypical stuff, but its worth it for my kids. Then there's the working mom, which I've done and am doing right now. I really would not want to go back to work full time while any of my children are little. Don't get me wrong I very much respect mom's who work full-time. I know its very challenging-that's why I wouldn't want to do it again. I know many SAHMs who would give a working mom that shameful dissaproving look. Why though why is there two sides to this seemingly unsolveable problem? What caused the "Mommy Wars"?
I really believe its the, as Rush Limbaugh likes to call them, FemeNazis, we have to blame for the very unfair and plain just not right scenario we have ourselves in American culture. The women who say the biblical worldview is wrong because it approves a patriarchal, phalocentric thinking society, they are the Femenazi's.
Don't get me wrong about feminism, because I really believe women are better off because of the feminist movement, or are we? Well we can vote, and we don't have to put up with our husband's crap, and we can work and have our own money. We can go out and have sex with as many men we want and call it "TEST DRIVING THE CAR BEFORE WE BUY IT" We can find ourselves pregnant and take a pill to make sure there isn't any "consequences" to pay for all that test-driving.
So what do you say are we really better off in this world today? I really think many women would have to say no not really because now the mom's have two jobs to do. Not only do they have to go win the bread, but they have to come home and bake it too!
To all the Femenazis out there who say the biblical worldview is wrong I challenge your thinking. Behind every great man in the bible there is a great woman. Women really have a way at getting men to do exactly what they want done. Eve got what she wanted. Sarah, Rebecca, Leah, Ruth, Debra, Hannah, Tamar, Delilah and so many others. These women have the greatest stories to tell.
Those stories are written right in with stories of the men; its not the bible who has forgotten the contribution of women its society and culture passed down from generations. You see when a man turned to a coward, or waivered in their faith, there was always a woman or women who would step up to the plate.
As women we need to find who we are in Jesus. He knows who we are, not our families or our friends. Not our neighbors or our bosses. He created each of us for a purpose. I've finally found that purpose and no longer am I going to strive to achieve the success or standards other people expect of me. The only reason I really like Rush's nickname for "FemeNAZI's" is because like NAZIs feminists tend to force their beliefs on anyone and everyone, infiltrating media, schools, even to the government level.
Rush also said all of the women of the feminist movement are dumbfounded by the phenomenon of women moving from the the career-oriented, self-centered world, back into their homes to take care of the children. These same feminist women are finding out their own daughter's want to be princesses-to have a man sweep them off their feet and take care of them the rest of their lives.
What is so wrong with that? Will someone please tell me what is so wrong with the princess mentality? I mean aren't we all princesses in God's kingdom waiting for our Prince Jesus? I don't know about you, but I'm eagerly waiting for that day I see my beloved the love of my soul!

Dodge Challenger

I'm not really a connoisseur of cars, I'm much more of a meddling mom of 3 who recognizes the importance of American made technology as a thriving piece in our economy.

I'm also the wife of a Dodge Jeep salesman, so I could say yes I'm a bit bias toward Dodges (Chrysler).

Love at first site is common in my life, and I was ready to elope the first moment my eyes fell on the Dodge Challenger. If a car ever gratified that place in me that finds bliss in an automobile, the Dodge Challenger found that sweet spot!

The hype of the new Chevrolet Camaro and the popularity of the Ford Mustang do not "get 'er done" so to speak.

The thrill of the ride is only awarded to the Dodge Challenger's sleek 70s style rock hard muscle. If ever there was a car that deserved balls this car is it!!

My husband works at a Five Star Dodge Dealer in Urbandale, Iowa.

Check out current available inventory of 2009 Challenger's available at Stew Hansen's (please don't forget to ask for my husband, Jeff Madison, if you call)

About the Blog

With the economy in shambles and politicians, economists, corporations, and groups postulating that they have the formula for what it takes to get us back on track, I haved decided that we need to stand up as a people and to put our ideas forward.
I am proud to be American. Many would say that pride is the reason much of the world is happy for our failed economy because somehow it is bad that Americans have been prosperous for so long, it is somehow only fair or right that we would eventually fail.
I for one disagree with that statement and say that as Americans we have to band together. We the people of the United States have to come together and stop allowing bureaucracy and politics and special interest groups and lobbyists and corporations run us! We have to stop drinking the k00l-aid, and I'm not just talking about Obama's kool-aid either.
My husband is a car salesman and I am a business owner and Collector for a financial institution. We are average Joe's here in America who are being squeezed right now. His job saw a dramatic loss in sales in October after the media told Americans to not even bother trying to get a car loan because banks were not loaning any money! All retail sales followed suit and we are beginning to see the job losses and other repercussions of the recession.
So now comes the uncertainty of a new Presidential Administration. The people voted for "change" but I'm cynical of the change making much of a difference on the dire circumstances of our nation.
The next administration is seemingly friendly with the American auto industry looking to provide them with more bailout money. How do we allow an industry that is the heart and soul of America to fail, but how do we continue to bail out the industry that obviously has a bad business plan?
Much of the problem came with regulations imposed by making the autmaker's in the US pay workers exorbitant pay as compared to the foreign automaker's who did not have to be regulated by unions. Yes many of the foreign automakers have chosen to make cars here in the US but those companies do not have to pay their workers the same amount of money or pay lifelong pensions.

A couple of ideas I am standing by are to put a cap on the amount of cars that can be imported from other countries or can be made here by importers, and to provide Americans with incentives to purchase American vehicles. Another idea that my state senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) has been promoting, is for the big dogs at the top 3 automakers to take salary cuts like Lee Iococa from Chrysler did back in the 80s. I think I read that Iococa took a 1 cent salary!!!

Why stop with the automaker CEOs though? What about AIG top dogs and other CEOs that are getting tax-payer bailout money?

Please write your legislators to let them know how you feel about this.
